Our Orchards

The Broome Farm Guesthouse is set amongst the wonderful backdrop of the Broome Farm orchards, home to Ross-on-Wye Cider & Perry Company.
The Johnson family have been pressing apples and pears at Broome Farm since the 1930s. Today our natural cider and perry is produced in the same traditional way in the unique soil and climate of Herefordshire. The cidermaking is pure and simple, using only whole juice, and allowing natural fermentation. Cidermaking on Broome Farm is more than business; it is a way of life, and a celebration of the tradition of cider. Into every batch of cider we produce goes our heartfelt belief in the superiority of a natural product over more processed commercial drinks. Our natural cider and perry is made from pure apple and pear juice, pressed ourselves, mainly from our own orchards.

During your stay at The Broome Farm Guesthouse you can learn more about our cidermaking by walking our orchards and tasting our cider. We sell our cider at our pub, The Yew Tree Inn, which is just a 10 minute walk away. There you will find an extensive collection of our cider and perry on draught and in bottle. We have over 60+ bottles of cider and perry available to takeaway from our Cider Shop. Beautiful wood-fired food is served at The Yew Tree Inn by Firebird Kitchen on Thursdays (5pm-9pm), Fridays (5pm-9pm) and Saturdays (Midday-9pm).
We also offer guided tours of the farm for groups of 4 people or more.
